"The Queen Is Dead", tercer álbum de The Smiths y considerado por muchos (incluyéndome) el mejor de la banda, fue lanzado en junio de 1986.

Varias de sus canciones. como el sencillo "Bigmouth Strikes Again" y otros cortes como "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" y "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others"se escuchaban mucho en las radios y en las discotecas a las que íbamos los entonces adolescentes, de modo que la audición del presente tiene una carga afectiva importante.
