The Cure - The Head On The Door - 1985

The Head On The Door es el sexto álbum de estudio de la banda británica The Cure editado en 1985.Supuso la apertura de la banda al suceso comercial sobre todo en los EEUU, habiéndose lanzado dos sencillos promocionales de éxito:

CLOSE TO ME

IN BETWEEN DAYS

THE BLOOD

Trevor Horn - Reimagines The Eighties (feat. The Sarm Orchestra) - 2019

Dancing in the Dark (feat. The Sarm Orchestra and Gabrielle Aplin)

It's Different for Girls (feat. The Sarm Orchestra and Steve Hogarth)

What's Love Got to Do With It (feat. The Sarm Orchestra and Tony Hadley)

Steve Hackett - At the edge of light - 2019

Joe Jackson - Fool - 2019

FOOL

"Fool"

Tougher than Superman, smarter than Batman
Could be a thin man, could be a fat man
Got more lives than a motherfuckin' cat, man
Go! Follow that man! Go! Follow that man!

When that I was an a little tiny boy
(Heigh, ho, the wind and the rain)
A foolish thing was nothing but a toy
(Rain, rain, every day
Rain, rain, go away
Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain)

Fool - kicks off the carnival
Wise man goes to church
Fool - fucks up the funeral
No respect - well what do you expect

He's the man who don't follow orders
Stands on one leg and plays the recorder
Gets out of jail and laughs at the warder
Break for the border! Break for the border!

He that has an a little tiny with
(Heigh, ho, the wind and the rain)
Better make sure that he uses it
(Rain, rain, every day
Rain, rain, go away
Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain)

Fool - kicks off the carnival
Wise man goes to church
Fool - fucks up the funeral
No respect - well what do you expect

Hail the Prince in pink polyester
Burn the Priests and bomb the Protesters
Kill the King, but you can't kill Feste
Long live the Jester! Long live the Jester!

Fool - kicks off the carnival
Wise man goes to church
Fool - fucks up the funeral
No respect - well what do you expect

Ochentosos, suaves e inolvidables...

THE FIXX - SECRET SEPARATION

Lost in motion, locked together
Day and night, by trick of light
But I must take another journey
We must meet with other names
We must meet with other names

You touched my heart so deeply
You rescued me now free me
Don't watch me cry just see me go
I'll take away the strongest feelings
You will ever know

There will be no more isolation
In our secret separation
You touched my heart so deeply, you rescued me
Now free me

We are passengers in time
Lost in motion, locked together
Day and night, by trick of light
But I must take another journey
We must meet with other names
If you hold me you will hurt me
Be brave

There will be no more isolation
In our secret separation
You touched my heart so deeply, you rescued me
Now free me

We are matching spark and flame
Caught in endless repetition
Life for life we'll be the same
I must leave before you burn me
I am the stranger who deserts you only to love you
In another life

There will be no more isolation
In our secret separation
You touched my heart so deeply, you rescued me
Now free me

I'll bear one precious scar that only you will know
Passengers in time, free me

A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS - I RAN

[Verse 1]
I walked along the avenue
I never thought I'd meet a girl like you
Meet a girl like you
With auburn hair and tawny eyes
The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through
Hypnotize me through

[Chorus]
And I ran, I ran so far away
I just ran, I ran all night and day
Couldn't get away

[Verse 2]
A cloud appears above your head
A beam of light comes shining down on you
Shining down on you
The cloud is moving nearer still
Aurora borealis comes in view
Aurora comes in view

[Chorus]
And I ran, I ran so far away
I just ran, I ran all night and day
Couldn't get away

[Verse 3]
Reached out a hand to touch your face
You're slowly disappearing from my view
Disappearing from my view
Reached out a hand to try again
I'm floating in a beam of light with you
A beam of light with you

[Chorus]
And I ran, I ran so far away
I just ran, I ran all night and day
And I ran, I ran so far away
I just ran, I couldn't get away

THE HUMAN LEAGUE - LOUISE

When he saw her getting off the bus
It seemed to wipe away the years
Her face was older, just a little rough
But her eyes were still so clear
He drank his coffee and he hurried out
Across before she walked away
Then he approached her like a little child
Too scared for what he had to say

"Hello, Louise
Remember me?
Now should we part
Or stay awhile?
As if we were still lovers"

She took a moment just to recognise
The man she'd known so well before
And as he started to apologise
Lose any bitterness she bore
She gently put her finger on his lips
To let him know she understood
And with her suitcase standing on the floor
Embraced him like a lover would

He told Louise
"You look so good
It's just you see
You make me feel
As if we were still lovers"

It's not always true that time heals all wounds
There are wounds that you don't wanna heal
The memories of something really good
Something truly real, that you never found again

And though they talked for just a little time
Before she said she had to go
He saw the meeting as a tiny sign
That told him all he had to know

And so Louise
Waved from the bus
And as she left
She gave that smile
As if they were still lovers

DAN HARTMAN - I CAN DREAM ABOUT YOU

[Verse 1:]
No more timing
Each tear that falls from my eyes
I`m not hiding the remedy
To cure this old heart of mine

[Chorus x2:]
I can dream about you
If I can`t hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right

[Verse 2:]
Moving sidewalks
I don`t see under my feet
Climbing up from down here below
Where the streets
See me lonely for you, oh

[Repeat Chorus:]

[Verse 3:]
(I can dream about you)
I`m gonna press
My lips against you
And hold you to me

(I can dream about you)
You know you got me
Spellbound
What else can it be?

Moving sidewalks
I don`t see under my feet
Climbing up from the pain in my heart
Cause it`s you that I need

I can dream
Whoa
Oh, oh, oh
I can dream
Yes, I can dream
Whoa
Oh, oh, oh

I don`t understand it
Can`t keep my mind off loving you
(Not even for a minute)
Oooh

Now baby
I`m caught up in the magic
I see in you
There`s one thing to do

[Repeat Chorus:]

Oh, I can dream about you
If I can`t hold you tonight
I can dream about you
Oh, I can dream
I can dream
I can dream about you
I can dream about you

COCK ROBIN - THE PROMISE YOU MADE

If I laid down my love
To come to your defense
Would you worry for me
With a pain in your chest?
Could I rely on your faith to be strong
To pick me back up and to push me along?
Tell me

You'll be there in my hour of need
You won't turn me away
Help me out of the life I lead
Remember the promise you made
Remember the promise you made

If I gave you my soul
For a piece of your mind
Would you carry me with you
To the far edge of time?
Could you understand if you found me untrue
Would we become one, or divided in two
Please tell me

You'll be there in my hour of need
You won't turn me away
Help me out of the life I lead
Remember the promise you made
Remember the promise you made

Could I rely on your faith to be strong
To pick me back up and to push me along?
Please tell me

You'll be there in my hour of need
You won't turn me away
Help me out of the life I lead
Remember the promise you made
Remember the promise you made
Remember the promise you made
Remember the promise you made

MARILLION - KAYLEIGH

Do you remember chalk hearts melting on a playground wall
Do you remember dawn escapes from moon washed college halls
Do you remember the cherry blossom in the market square
Do you remember I thought it was confetti in our hair

By the way didn't I break your heart?
Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart
So sorry, I never meant to break your heart
But you broke mine

Kayleigh is it too late to say I'm sorry?
And Kayleigh could we get it together again?
I just can't go on pretending that it came to a natural end

Kayleigh, oh I never thought I'd miss you
And Kayleigh I thought that we'd always be friends
We said our love would last forever
So how did it come to this bitter end?

Do you remember barefoot on the lawn with shooting stars
Do you remember loving on the floor in Belsize park
Do you remember dancing in stilettos in the snow
Do you remember you never understood I had to go

By the way, didn't I break your heart?
Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart
So sorry, I never meant to break your heart
But you broke mine

Kayleigh I just wanna say I'm sorry
But Kayleigh I'm too scared to pick up the phone
To hear you've found another lover
To patch up our broken home

Kayleigh I'm still trying to write that love song
Kayleigh it's more important to me now you're gone
Maybe it will prove that we were right
Or ever prove that I was wrong

NIK KERSHAW - WOULDN'T IT BE GOOD

I got it bad
You don't know how bad I got it
You got it easy
You don't know when you've got it good
It's getting harder
Just keeping life and soul together
I'm sick of fighting
Even though I know I should

The cold is biting
Through each and every nerve and fiber
My broken spirit
Is frozen to the core
I don't want to be here no more

Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes
Even if it was for just one day?
Wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away?

Wouldn't it be good to be on your side?
The grass is always greener over there
Wouldn't it be good if we could live without a care?

You must be joking
You don't know a thing about it
You've got no problem
I'd stay right there if I were you
I got it harder
You couldn't dream how hard I got it
Stay out of my shoes
If you know what's good for you

The heat is stifling
Burning me up from the inside
The sweat is coming
Through each and every pore
I don't want to be here no more
I don't want to be here no more
I don't want to be here no more

Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes
Even if it was for just one day?
Wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away? Ooh

Wouldn't it be good to be on your side?
The grass is always greener over there
And wouldn't it be good if we could live without a care?

I got it bad
You don't know how bad I got it
You got it easy
You don't know when you've got it good
It's getting harder
Just keeping life and soul together
I'm sick of fighting
Even though I know I should

THOMPSON TWINS - HOLD ME NOW

[Verse 1]
I have a picture
Pinned to my wall
An image of you and of me and
We're laughing, we're loving it all
But look at our life now
All tattered and torn
We fuss and we fight
And delight in the tears
That we cry until dawn
Oh, whoa

[Chorus]
Hold me now, whoa
Warm my heart
Stay with me
Let loving start
Let loving start

[Verse 2]
You say I'm a dreamer
We're two of a kind
Both of us searching
For some perfect world
We know we'll never find
So perhaps I should leave here
Yeah, yeah, and go far away
But you know that there's nowhere
That I'd rather be
Than with you here today
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa

[Chorus]
Hold me now, whoa
Warm my heart
Stay with me
Let loving start
Let loving start, whoa
Hold me now, whoa
Warm my heart
Stay with me
Let loving start
Let loving start, whoa

[Verse 3]
You ask if I love you
Well, what can I say?
You know that I do
And that this is just one
Of those games that we play
So I'll sing you a new song
Please don't cry anymore
I'll even ask your forgiveness
Though I don't know
Just what I'm asking it for
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa

[Chorus]
Hold me now, (hold me in your loving arms) whoa
Warm my heart (warm my cold and tired heart)
Stay with me (stay with me)
Let loving start
Let loving start, whoa
Hold me now, (hold me in your loving arms) whoa
Warm my heart (warm my cold and tired heart)
Stay with me (stay with me)
Let loving start
Let loving start, whoa
Hold me now, (hold me in your loving arms) whoa
Warm my heart (warm my cold and tired heart)
Stay with me (stay with me)
Let loving start
Let loving start, whoa
Hold me now, (hold me in your loving arms) whoa
Warm my heart (warm my cold and tired heart)
Stay with me (stay with me)
Let loving start
Let loving start, whoa
Hold me now, (hold me in your loving arms) whoa
Warm my heart (warm my cold and tired heart)
Stay with me (stay with me)
Let loving start
Let loving start, whoa

Jethro Tull - Minstrel In The Gallery - 1975

MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY

"El título hace referencia a las galerías de trovadores (minstrel's galleries), habituales en los salones principales de los castillos o granjas antiguas, destinadas a que los músicos tocaran sus melodías, ocultos de la vista de los comensales. Cinco de los siete temas tienen un carácter mixto, es decir, están formados por canción y relato." (Wikipedia)
